Private House

About and standards

Discretion is a service standard.

Not a marketing line. A set of working rules that determine what we do in a client's home, what we write down, and what we decline to do at all.

PRIVATE HOUSE exists because household technology has quietly become a serious part of family life, and almost nobody is looking after it as a whole. Individual pieces are sold competently — a router here, a security app there, a specialist installation elsewhere — but no one is holding the complete picture, in plain language, on the household's behalf.

We are not a penetration-testing company, physical-security installer or IT helpdesk waiting for something to break. We work in homes, at the pace of the people who live in them, and we write things down so that the least technical member of the family can follow what has been done.

The work is deliberately unglamorous: careful assessment, sensible installation, patient explanation and reliable maintenance. That is what actually protects a household, and it is what a great deal of louder marketing tends to skip.

Standards

Nine principles we work to.

These appear in the client agreement, not only on this page.

Privacy by design
Every arrangement starts from the question of how little access is required to do the job properly, rather than how much would be convenient for us.
Explicit client consent
No change to a device, account or network happens without your agreement. Silence is never treated as permission.
Least access
We only access what is necessary to complete the work we have agreed. When a task ends, the access ends with it, and we tell you when it has been removed.
Clear documentation
Everything we do is recorded in plain English and given to you. If you engaged someone else tomorrow, they could pick it up in an afternoon.
No hidden monitoring
We do not install covert tracking of any household member, for anyone, under any circumstances — including at the request of another household member.
Client control
You own the equipment, the configuration and the record. You can end the arrangement without losing the benefit of the work.
Secure handling of information
The little information we hold about your household is kept encrypted, restricted to those who need it, and reduced to the minimum necessary to serve you well.
Trusted specialist partners
Where monitoring, removal work or legal advice is needed, we introduce specialists rather than pretending to be them — and only with your permission.
Honest boundaries
We state clearly what the service can and cannot do. No absolute anonymity, no hack-proof claims, no guarantees we could not keep.

Status and credentials

What we will not claim yet.

Rather than invent reassurance, the items below are shown honestly as outstanding while they are finalised.

  • [Professional indemnity and cyber-insurance details to be confirmed]
  • [ICO registration status to be confirmed]
  • [Cyber Essentials status to be confirmed]
  • [Specialist monitoring partner details to be confirmed]

No certifications, accreditations, partnerships, team members, awards, insurance policies or regulatory positions are claimed anywhere on this site. Each will be stated only once it is genuinely in place.

Coordination

Working with your existing advisers.

Most households of this kind already have trusted people in place. We are comfortable being one voice among several, and we would rather coordinate well than displace someone who is doing a good job.

  • Your existing IT provider or managed service company
  • Your smart-home, automation or audiovisual installer
  • Your family office or accountant
  • Your household manager or estate manager
  • Your executive assistant or private PA
  • Your architect and interior designer, during a project
  • Your physical security or risk adviser

We contact none of these people without your clear, specific permission, and we tell you what was discussed afterwards.
